As many ‘out of shape’ individuals know, taking the first step to redemption in the weight loss sense can be rather intimidating and positively shameful. However from the very first meeting with Jules those concerns were lifted. Her approach is both positive and encouraging. Goals are discussed, and an achievable plan is set out. The private gym room is well equipped, and it’s got a really comforting vibe. Each week’s training follows on from the previous session, with fresh disciplines introduced. After a few weeks there is a comprehensive library of exercises and movements which can be used for life. In addition these are neither monotonous, nor impossible to complete. In fact I would even say these are enjoyable. After each session there is knowledge that a proper workout has been achieved, without the feeling of dread for the next appointment. That demonstrates Jules has the rare quality that few personal trainers can achieve, she makes the entire experience captivating. As well as the physical aspects, Jules has an excellent knowledge of nutrition and diet. In this department I was expecting to be supplied with a menu of plain and dull foods. How wrong I was. Jules has a fresh approach to eating. The 80/20 concept is really simple to understand, and each week she circulates a recipe of the week which further demonstrates her commitment to helping people to achieve their goals. The food diary is possibly at the core of how to change one’s habits, or identify personal eating problems, and Jules clearly spends time outside of the sessions to review what one is eating, and how to improve diet. Her feedback and advice on this is really immense and I cannot express how grateful I am for this. A ten week course of sessions works out to the equivalent of a decent night out, so it’s “exceptional value” given this is an investment in a ‘lifetime’ of better quality eating and exercising. I would recommend everyone invests in Jules - it is the smartest investment I have made.

Jules is not only an excellent personal trainer but a truly lovely person who has provided incredible support to me, not just with the physical work but also a focus on mental wellbeing and healthy eating advice. I am very grateful for all of this support and the whole person approach which was what drew me to Jules in the first place. She has helped me tackle a lot of personal hurdles and stick with my routine or more importantly, get back on track if I slip, when before I would have quit, or at best, not felt comfortable being open and honest. I've never been disciplined enough to go to the gym or workout from home consistently and food is my go-to comfort blanket, so I was desperate to change. I was nervous about going to a PT, especially when I had got to a point with such a terrible level of fitness (I'm talking really bad for anyone else that is anxious). However, Jules is really patient, caring, reassuring and knowledgeable on all aspects. I'm always particularly amazed at her little prompts or corrections during workouts which instantly improve the exercise. I have to be honest this might mean a stretch going from a 5 to an 8, but it's worth it haha! Jules is always clear with her instructions and diligent at checking nothing is hurting in the wrong way and I know what I should be feeling during the exercise. This was a big thing which put me off the gym before, but now I'm supplementing a weekly session there as well. I've been seeing Jules a few months now and never thought I would say this but it's also genuinely been fun with routines tailored as much as possible to the bits that I enjoy while still working towards my goals. I'm really happy with my progress and Jules is great at pushing me to the next level but not forceful or pushy. If you're starting from a low fitness and confidence point like I was, or someone a lot more experienced, I could not recommend Jules any more highly!

Jules’s consultative approach and in-depth look at my diet and lifestyle helped identify areas of improvement and the results have been exactly what I was hoping for.
